We just had another burglary at an elderly couple about 4 houses away last week. They came to me and asked if my little webcams picked up anyone in our cul-de-sac. They did ...... but not much resolution but they could identify his traits.
They are all internal just covering the front door approach, the driveway and the bicycle shed at the back. That setup suits our needs. It's just 4 USB webcams hooked up to the PC which record on motion and put out sound alerts etc.
What I would now like .... to cover the road. A wifi webcam / security which I can maybe install in a letter box closer to the road to be able to easily indentify movement. Of course it has to be on a very frugal budget.
We obviously have a PC and a WiFi router to throw into the mix. The PC is on 24/7 and on a 8 hour battery backup system.
