Hello fellow forumites,
I have been a long time user of XBMC and I love it. However, I'm about to move from intermediate to more advanced type of XBMC stuff and I was hoping for some guidance in case and of you have tried to do (and hopefully succeeded) what I am planning.
My main media machine is in my lounge, I have my hard drives in there and that's where my media and all XBC settings etc are stored. In my bedroom I have a small little PC driving my PJ and I want it to be able to access all the same stuff. I know that straight forward sharing is easy, BUT, I want it to be a little bit better then that.
1. I want my machine in the bedroom to run XBMC - no problem, that's pretty much straight forward. BUT.....
2. I want that XBMC build to pull all it's data from the media server in my lounge. Not just the music / movies etc, but EVERYTHING. So that's the fanart, album art, what's been watched, ratings, etc all comes over. I want one XBMC database sitting on my media server, being accessed by both machines.
3. I want to be able to setup my media machine so that it has wake on lan turned on, and when my PC in the bedroom starts up, the PC in the lounge starts too so that the media is shared.
Any ideas?
Lastly, my XBMC wishlist:
1. I want an app / add on that automatically lists everything from a movie / series aspect onto a webpage / google doc so that I can immediately know if I am missing and particular series etc.
2. I want an app / add on that lets me know when something I regularly watch has been released and it can see I don't have it in my library
Has anyone seen anything like this? I like seriesguide alot, but it doesnt have any clue what's already on my media server, I need something that does both!
