XMBC/Amilight system?

Has anyone on the forum done a XBMC with some sort of ambilight setup? Its something I want to try in my main lounge - think it would add a nice effect.

I found this kit, http://paintpack.ru/ - but can't read russian, I can make out a 60 LED version, and it seems around R800 - but thats about it
