Quite a pleasant experience besides the cable installations. I was happy to have the opportunity to create better F-Connector terminations though. On my new HD PVR 2P (2 tuner), I mixed up the two cables and was wondering what would happen...Multichoice advised I would get an error when trying to record but I was lucky as I had no issues i.e. tuner 1 went to tuner 1, same with tuner 2.
As for the Xtraview install, it was rather painless. Some observations:
Despite logic:
* The RF hearbeat cable on your primary HD PVR must be coming out of RF-In
* The RF heartbeat cable on your SECONDARY HD PVR must be going into RF-Out
* The Xtraview menu must confirm the above
* Both control options on the menu must be set to 'Yes'
So once I had scanned the IS7 network and done the above steps (with MC on the phone), a code appeared on the secondary TV which MC captures on their side...hey presto, 'tis all done. I was never quite sure of all the steps but it turned out to be very simple and painless.
Both SD and HD viewing on my new Samsung PS43D490 is quite spectacular. One thing is for sure, a 720p set is much better suited for the HD PVR.
