    RCA to coax converter

Hey Mars67, I use this type of thing with my security camera's around the house, mine don't carry sound though.. It's a simple adaptor from RCA to coax. I get all mine at security shops eg : cameratron in Menlyn - perhaps you can give them a call to see if they have the ones that will enable...

    ROTEL RMB-1095

Hey Whyme - pity you missed that...I think 10k is a great price. A sound shop in Menlyn was going to give me 15 as a trade in on mine... I have to agree that buying from CC isn't nessacaraly a bad thing - most of the time you can see if it was cared for by the overall condition and people who...

    Good 3D blurays

Naughty - +100. - Hubble was a documentary that I enjoyed - I don't bother watching anything other than documentaries in 3d - but even then some are really poor. :wallbreak:

BWS - Wendy James..... Damn I haven't heard that in a long time...I think I'll crack open those CD's later and give them a spin. She was awesome! Evanescence - Amy Lee has an amazing voice as well.

Are all blu rays the same/similar..??

Hey Flash , Black Hawk has an issue with the sound track , I was messing with this the other day and found if I switched it to multichannel out on the player (still through hdmi ) the sound was significantly better and actually sounded like it should have in the 1st place. It was noticeably...

    Out of phase setup

Yip the auto checks often report errors when there are none, some amps allow to override and save. I have a disk called 'dishwasher' it has a cool phase check that steps you through all the speakers in the setup, 1st 10 seconds in phase then 6 out and you can hear the change immediately. see if...

    b&w speakers why?

I have a pair of 803d's and love them...... But I do think think they are a bit expensive as a brand...I've listed to some amazing speakers (granted not in one setting) but sometimes questioned if the B&W's were worth double or triple the cost.....

Old and new things, and decisions regarding amplifiers...

As long as there is no voltage in the cable, I would think standby on both sides is enough but I have seen some guys turn everything off at the plug. I've never had an issue if both are in standby though. So what have you decided on the amps ?

Old and new things, and decisions regarding amplifiers...

I agree with Vaughan, 8k is allot and in 2 years you not going to get your cash back anyway...and probably didn't use all the 'extra' benefits of the big amp... Like - super thick high rise, low noise, vibration free, non conductive circuit board clamps...  :EGrin:

    Anyone undertake extensive soundproofing?

Thanks for the nice comments guys  ;D The ceiling was filled with the same Rockwool as the sides, Im honestly not an expert on sound damping etc but I do think it's important from the things ive read, I used any opportunity available to stop the sound getting to my other rooms.  :flyswat...

    Yamaha RXV-1067 vs RX-A810 vs RX-A820 vs Denon 2113IC

To cut a long story short, I used to sell AV kit as a side line in my company's offering, anyway I had endless issues with power supply and blown channels... They always sounded nice but I wouldn't buy one - granted this was the previous gen kit so perhaps the newer stuff is much better. ( Denon...

Hey Cubic, a short while ago was the 1st time id ever heard the Sonar Procyon or seen them... Preditor and a black widow driving them. They were amazing...lots of value in my opinion but not my taste in looks. But if you one of those guys that either likes the looks or it doesn't matter to...
