I have that Rotel 2500 with the Shure M44C cart. Tracking weight is over 3g as per my previous post. Otherwise it is fairly nice table. I want to set it up as the main 'everyday' TT in the lounge to give the V15 on the Dual a rest, and want to get a new cart. Thinking sommer an AT91 to start...

I dont think Ron even ran these speakers before the day I went to pick them up. He drove them on a Sansui G2000 using an ipod at low volume. They did sound bassy but not too muffled. I just assumed it was the amp / ipod input or levels issue . . .  Listened like my ass cause I was excited about...

Thanks Hi-Phibian. Hmmm. I will try contact them for repair / replacement options. I will also check the terminal wires... Still does not explain why the other tweeter was also not working if i assume there was nothing wrong with the crossovers then...? Wonder if it is worth the effort then...

Nice. Some of the Logitec stuff will do that... I have an OLD 2.1 set on the missuses PC and on the HTPC a wireless 7.1 headset (G930) not too great for music, but for gaming and 7.1 movies it is awesome!

I posted a pic just before you posted... ;) Yes terminals were correctly linked.  Removed link to test and plugged amp straight into treble terminals only, no sound from either tweeters. Wouldn't dream of even opening one of those tweeters...

Yes sure 1 is not working. It is completely open circuit. The other measures 4.3 ohm which i guess is normal. With cabinets assembled we tested and 100% sure no sound from tweets. How do i go about definitively trouble shooting to make sure where the problem lies? Measuring the control...

The 1ohm measure correct. The 4.7k is open circuit on both crossover boards. Burnt right bottom... Sorry for the k@k pic. . . What would repair of the tweeters entail? Will post of the front tomorrow. It is a metal dome. Speakers seem to be a more recent model, with rear baffle.
