    Options to improve Chromecast

Hi all. I have a Chromecast audio puck which is currently connected to an AUX in on my amp with a cheapie 3,5mm to RCA cable. I'm streaming Youtube music and have just signed up to Tidal. Everything works 100%, and actually sounds very good. I'm looking at options to improve the current setup...

    LF 2.5A 250w Fuse

Where in Jhb are you ?. Broadacres hardware has all the small things that the Builders etc don't. Different size fuses with different ratings. Small globes bayonet or screw from 1.5v upwards. They also have tiny springs, circles etc.

Tweeter magnet fell off - easy repair or replace?

Glue or longer screws, and it should be fine. Just be careful when lining it up because of the magnet pull. You don't want to bend or damage the edges of the coil.

Tweeter rewinding... the good, the bad and the ugly...

The first thing I would do is swap the tweeters and see if it's possibly a crossover problem.

What car audio? (bang for buck)

Forgot to add.......NEVER buy cheap USED car audio unless you can test it properly. The cheap stuff is often abused by the gazillion watt brigade.

What car audio? (bang for buck)

I would avoid Star sound and Dixon. There's a lot of junk out there. Lightning audio is okay. I believe it's the cheaper brand from Rockford Fosgate. Phoenix Gold is also a good product. I've had a Rockford Fosgate Power 400/4 for almost a decade and before that the Punch 400/4. Both bulletproof...

Long balanced cable for a subwoofer

Sommer so ?. The one has more attack, and the other warmth, but both are sublime. It's more about the smoothness and aerodynamic properties of the XLR casings. Neutrik seems to be the winner here, with an almost invisible seam between the shank and the locking collar. ;D BTW, I have no idea what...

Long balanced cable for a subwoofer

Microphone cable is what you need. You can buy from music shops, but they are not really good quality. Broadcast Lines in the Cresta area will be able to sort you out with better stuff. You need to bear in mind that it will only be a "balanced" cable if both components have balanced in's and...

What are the best bookshelf speakers you have heard?

AR 18S AR 6BX. No idea why, but as ultra nearfields, there is detail in the mids like no other at low volume. Mission 70 ...and hope to be blown away when my AE2's are complete

    How to fix b&w cm8 Tweeters(Pushed in)

As Hi Phibian says. The only way with those or other alu domes, is from behind. Gently rub in a circular motion with a smooth rounded object like the back of a pencil. It will never be perfect, but a lot better than those ones sold on Facebook  ;D

How to renew a car license disk of a deceased person?

You just need a copy of ID and info from the existing disc. I've been doing my mothers for years when we do our cars.. They have no idea if the person is deceased or not. My mother is still alive BTW. ;D Since you work for the government as you say, surely you should have first hand access to...

Advice on a audio device for my home office build

Get a used Scarlet 2i2. Plenty of those around. I wouldn't go for anything cheaper than that.

    Budget noise cancelling H/phones

I'm looking for the cheapest decent wired noise cancelling headphones. I think I need a pair for every member of my household, so that I can make as much noise as I like without complaints. Seriously though, anything reasonable that wont break the bank. A friend recommended some JBL's that they...

I'm Tony. a husband, father, team boss and mechanic to a 16 year old kart racer, and an 18 year old about to start prelims. I collect odd things that i couldn't afford in my youth, and can spend hours in a hardware store browsing for stuff that i can use for anything, but what they were designed...
