    Another F5/SRPP

Ok, i'm getting far along enough now to split off into my own topic, methinks. Next question: DC voltage on the PSU seems a bit high? When I tested it in "plankie" mode i got a steady 23.54v. Of course, that was before i replaced all the resistors to give them some "air". Switched it on for...

Advice on upgrade AVR power amp combo's

no dealer, you'll have to import. The XPA is about 40kgs, the UMC about 6 or 7. Shipping will probably run you about $250-$300 (Emotiva gets very good rates, ask them for a quote). Customs should be 20% + VAT. Mine got here fine.

Advice on upgrade AVR power amp combo's

With that budget i'd look at emotiva. I'd have a UMC-200 or Sherbourn PT-7030 pre-amp with the XPA-5 amp combo. nice.

Anybody here got an itch to build a FirstWatt F5 amp?

Hey, another question, because i'd rather be safe than sorry I'm assuming the IEC ground connection goes behind the thermistor, at "B". What about grounding the PSU board to the chassis? Before or after? While we are at it, the plan for the power LED is to wire the LED and its resistor from...

I have to say, that is about the best looking stuff i have ever seen. I almost don't care what it sounds like, if i could afford it, i'f buy it based purely on looks!

Oneremote - the one remote for everything.

you guys really need a few videos to demonstrate the concept. if the operation looks as good as it sounds, you won't have any problems with hooking investors.

Anybody here got an itch to build a FirstWatt F5 amp?

don't have the clippings anymore, unfortunately. and i don't mind buying new ones, i've poured many thousands of rands into this, so a few more won't hurt. I just don't seem to be able to find the flippen things. RS, Mantech, Communica (the only one really any where near me) or yebo. Either i'm...

Anybody here got an itch to build a FirstWatt F5 amp?

You mean like a terminal block? otherwise i suppose i could just wire them in parallel on a piece of veroboard and run the leads back to the pcb.

Anybody here got an itch to build a FirstWatt F5 amp?

Anybody here got an itch to build a FirstWatt F5 amp?

like so: i don't think (hope) the caps took any damage. The multimeter readings are still spot on what they are supposed to be. So i think i just need to swop out the one resistor? Spade connectors turned a bit brown, should i replace & resolder?
