Interesting Posts from The Audiophile's Wife Blog...LOL

And Tainted Love Last week I mentioned my new audio store game in which I look for the prettiest item available for sale. Naturally, while looking for that which is attractive, it is difficult not to notice that which is unattractive, dare I say ugly, even. This brings me to a question I've...

Another - Magic Bus Once upon a time, three weeks ago, when The Audiophile and I were in San Francisco on that Hop On Hop Off bus tour, there was an incident. While I was craning to hear all of the fantastic details being imparted to us by the convivial guide, The Audiophile was fidgeting. I...

Check out this Blog  -  http://www.theaudiophileswife.com/ Here are some examples of what Wives have posted  :D Talks to WAF Everything is Beautiful Given The Audiophile's propensity to seek out audio stores far and wide and my propensity to tag along behind him like a partially potty-trained...

    Bi Wiring

Quote from Jim Smith of Getter Better Sound http://getbettersound.com/index.php Bi-wiring I?ve received a surprising number of questions about why I ignored bi-wiring in Get Better Sound. Guess I didn?t think of it so much as ignoring it as being focused on addressing issues that were a bit...

    Bi Wiring

Some opine that you do not necessarily get a better sound.  It depends on the quality of the binding posts of the speaker brand...good to experiment a little before making anmy permanent changes such as joining cables....

    Yamaha RX-V1900 worth repairing?

If the surround processing and amplification still works, you can perhaps get away with only buying the remote.  run ALL video sources direct to the monitor and use the AVR display to do set up...worth a try, because next thing another component goes and the spend is already hi....

    3 weeks without hifi

I hear you.  the same applied to the clean up of New York City...zero tolerance means you get policed on everything.  From littering and jaywalking up. The result is that this changes peoples mindsets.  Busybody neighbours is another thing though...sometimes this is the people personalities

Why doesnt the very rich share ?

That is aside form the fact that they are simply not enthusiasts....the expensive gear is expensive because they 'only buy the best'....car, house, furniture, etc.

Why doesnt the very rich share ?

When it comes to sharing....even more so when it comes to sharing time, which tends to be jealously guarded.  The rich are often very busy and are successful because of their ability to focus on their business enterprises to the exclusion of 'everything else'.  Spending time on a forum such as...

Loosing your hearing- do you fade away or call it quits ?

This all assumes we are convinced that we hear properly from day one :)  Actually I understand that no one's hearing is exactly the same form both ears....even when you are younger.  Probably why some people do not like use AVR autoset up as the final check, but once done prefer to tweak...

Black Widow Pre-amp vs Audio Research LS 27

Personally I will buy local so long as I hear my preferred 'good sound' so I can sit down an listen without fatigue and that my perception of value for money is met.  I have had one of Schalk's original VA 802 Integrated amps and have move on through to a Whisper, BW Pre and 2 BW Mono Powers...
