CNC bits & bobs - leave 'em here [donate or flog]

I have an untested, used VFD. It has a 3-phase input, which I suspect can be paralleled to make it a single-phase supply. I always wanted a 3-phase spindle. However, I already have a trimmer/router that can do duty in the meantime.

CNC bits & bobs - leave 'em here [donate or flog]

I just want to share an update on this project. I have been opportunistically scavenging the classifieds and now I have a few more bits 'n bobs. I'm a lot closer now to being able to put together a sort of Frankenstein-type monstrosity. Being a hodge-podge of parts, I have yet to work out how...

    Falcon Acoustics

I did finally get an update from Falcon. Apparently Volt had a hold-up with materials. I at least now have a promised date.

    Webuyhifi

I have never been to his shop, but he does seem to be able to acquire some very nice kit. Loving the look of those B&W DM16 speakers he is offering at the moment.

    Falcon Acoustics

Has anyone here dealt with Falcon Acoustics in the UK? If so, how did you find their service? I ordered some drivers from them that is built-to-order by the manufacturer, Volt. They have been slow in getting back to me with an estimated time of delivery.

Albums recorded with Stereo Mic Pairs, ie naturally Stereo recorded

While two microphone recording might intuitively come closest to reproducing the "you are there" effect, this could just be its Achilles' heel. That is, if the live "mix" is wrong, that is what will end up in the recording. To illustrate: years ago I attended a mini-concert held at the Athlone...

    Yamaha NS1000 M resurrection

I once bought a pair off a guy who demonstrated them to me by playing them very loud. I asked him to turn it down and on closer inspection discovered that the tweeters were both blown. He had no idea.

    Yamaha NS1000 M resurrection

I recommend that you do give those tweeters a chance; perhaps even to only use it as a baseline. The crossover frequency on the tweeter is relatively high and the original tweeter starts to roll off quite early, which makes this speaker compatible with a wide variety of tweeters. I mean the...

    Netflix spatial audio..worth it?

If you add the thread title to the OP's initial post content you end up with a few questions. I have never tried Spatial Audio; this is, in fact, the first time I hear of it. I do, however, run a 3.1 setup. It is mostly in 2.1 mode, while the centre channel comes in when surround sound is...

Confirmation bias, is it a one or two way street?

I don't know if this is symptomatic of confirmation bias but I have found that - with rare exception - if a hi-fi component looks good to me, specifically, if it exudes an air of good design or special attention to detail, it usually sounds good also. I don't think that I am now as much...
