    Electric Spray Guns

I don't understand. How does the nozzle wear out?

    Electric Spray Guns

I saw the Ryobi one for R400 and thought it was worth trying. Based on what has been said so far it doesn't seem like they are worth the trouble. On the other hand, from the you tube videos I've seen, there are people who've achieved very good finishes using them. Perhaps the quality of the...

    Electric Spray Guns

Anyone have experience with using these as an alternative to the noisy and bulky air compressor systems? It is not practical using a compressor for spray painting when living in an apartment/townhouse. I'm contemplating one for very small projects that I can paint and touch up on my balcony...

    Tweeter Polarity

Quite correct. I thought of this yesterday evening. Unfortunately I sold my Yamaha receiver the day before :( and I can't find the setup mic for my current receiver. I actually should have asked this to begin with. Much easier. But no worries though. After failing to find a compass to try...

    Tweeter Polarity

Interesting suggestion Ian. I will try it out shortly. I need to find a magnetic compass. I recall seeing it somewhere. Thanks

    Tweeter Polarity

Ok, I should have explained this: I foolishly removed the faceplates to paint them, only to realise when I had to put them together that I should have marked the correct position for the + side. The faceplates can be screwed in either one of two postions. So there's a 50% chance that the two...

    Tweeter Polarity

Eish damn. Thought there would be an easier way. The terminals are identically sized. it's the SEAS Excel T25CF-001. Thanks for the response Ian

    Tweeter Polarity

Hi all How does one determine the polarity of a tweeter if there are no + and - markings on it? I've read about DC voltage method which only seems to be useful for woofers, whose excursion is easily visible by the naked eye.

    MDF Dust Filter/Separator

Opinions on the net seem divided on the Triton system. Some people claim the filter gets clogged too easily resulting in loss of pressure.

    MDF Dust Filter/Separator

What do you use in your workshop Ian?

    MDF Dust Filter/Separator

I'll go with the option of building one. Seems not too complicated at all. There are a number of youtube videos on how to do this, like Chris said.

    MDF Dust Filter/Separator

You're correct. It requires a  vacuum cleaner or suction/extraction device to work. It goes between a router/table saw and the vacuum cleaner.

    MDF Dust Filter/Separator

I've been considering getting a device to help with MDF dust extraction. This will be used when routing driver holes and minimal speaker enclosure edge trimming on MDF. I cannot afford nor accommodate those industrial-sized system that take up took much space and though something like this might...

    E-Mail Communication

That's exactly what the company asked for. Proof that he got an automated reply from them. I check my father's emails regularly (through his permission, of course) and I don't recall seeing this reply. I dearly hope it was sent and he deleted it in error, in which case recovery can be attempted...

    E-Mail Communication

Some advise please: My father sent an important email to Company A using the email address that Company A provided. Company A claims to not have received the email. They ask if he got an auto-reply from their system to confirm that they received the email but he is not sure if he did. There?s...

    How matched are your electronics

The notion of ?synergy? I find quite puzzling and nebulous.  Apart from the relationship between an amplifier and a loudspeaker, or to a limited extent, a power amplifier and a preamplifier, (i.e. gain matching, or the ability for a power to handle low impedances of a loudspeaker and such, ...

    Yamaha RX-v1600 help

Had a similar problem with my Yamaha receiver a few months ago. Tried a few repair guys but none could fix it. I finally took it to Yamaha in Marlboro and they told me there's a fault with the power supply. They didn't have the power supply in stock and had to import it from Japan, they said...

Where to buy Paradigm Mon.9 bass driver separate?

Other than the distributors, check eBay. I've seen some there. Shipping may prove pricey though.

    Joint Seams

Thanks for all the responses guys. Interesting points made here. If the seams bother me in future, I may just resand and repaint the enclosure all over again in a few months time. Biggest lesson here is that the amount of time, effort and patience it takes to get a DIY build right can never be...

    Joint Seams

Hi everyone I was busy during the holidays building a subwoofer enclosure. I went to great lengths to thoroughly sand the joint seams before starting to paint. Before starting I did a bit of reading on how to avoid visible joint seams and painting in general, including tips from JimGore on the...
