Friend has the Zen Stream, we have been muttering that we must compare it to the Node.  Shall be interesting.  Will report back once it is done.

Went with the Polish option (the 430PLN one).  Even easier than the guide shows.  Definite improvement as a pure streamer with a better soundstage.  Tried the internal dac as well and that improves even more, but is still average at best. https://pd-cf.com/product-category/bluesound-node-2-en/...

Hijacking your topic - upgraded the power supply on the Node 2i (I only use it for streaming, use an external DAC) after reading a few things online.  Makes a noticeable difference for a minimal outlay (went with one of the cheaper options).

Borrowed one recently.  It really is brilliant value for money.  As the Pontus is on back order am tempted to just get the Ares. 

The Node 2i DAC is very average (at best - I wasn't impressed with it before hearing it on my own system which just reinforced my view) - but makes a wonderful streamer when used with an external DAC.

Currently on back order with Vinshine.  After trying an Ares 2 in my system was going to get a Pontus.  Will have to wait it seems.

Agreed - sound for me is better on the inverter than on the grid.

Have noticed with both Spotify and Tidal songs disappear, sometimes come back, are added with almost hypnotic regularity. None have left me with emotional scars.

Majority not in SA.  But even the standard Lexus systems are better than the upgrade ones on most other manufacturers.  They really do take sound seriously.
