    Are tweeters important?

Exactly! Why are Stradivarius violins so sought after? Their sound is just fantastic, caused by all sorts of additional vibrations at that tone - timbre is the musical term....  I'm not saying it is in the extreme upper frequencies necessarily, but it does make a perceivable difference...  All...

Practical pros & cons of concentric drivers (Tannoy, KEF etc)

Having owned a pair of Tannoy 611s and now the D700s, I can say that the one advantage is the tweeter domes are a fair way away from pokey little fingers!!! :sd: Can't say the same for KEFs...

    Combining two small amps

Hi Naboo... Just check your supply voltage.  Generally with these kit Class-D amps, the output power is related to the supply voltage.  For max rated power you'll need max allowable power supply voltage.

    Trompies Terrifically Terrifying Piri-Piri Sauce

    Choice of volume pot

But surely with make-before-break you'd get a blip of louder as the two resistors are in parallel (much lower resistance) during transition?  I've never used these, so wouldn't know for sure... :nfi:

    Linn Classik Movie 05 repair.

Yes, it is indeed confusing! Further investigation shows Murata uses the 225 marking for their 2,2mH... :nutter:

    Linn Classik Movie 05 repair.

I would tend more towards a 2,2milihenry if it's a filter on the power supply bus.  Check out how thin the winding wires are; the thinner, the higher the inductance. Or if possible measure the resistance of the winding. If the resistance is in the 1's to 10's of ohms or more, it's 2,2mH... The...

The new Marantz M30 integrated Amp - What a beaut!!

Indeed, but looking at the specs, I couldn't see a closely matching Hypex amp on their website.  Cheaper and easier to get the experts to make a custom component for you??

    Beer brewing - equipment, advice

I was given a 25l fermenter with a beer kit (Mangrove Jack) for my birthday a while back.  Only opened it once beer had run out after lockdown :-[  Easy... just add hot water, stir, add cold water, yeast, then ferment.  I then realised that having separate fermenters is the way to go, so bought...
