I still dont get it...if a dac didnt resolve detail , why would it only do so on complex music .. it doesnt know what music its playing? ALL music would be muddled .. even a simple plucking of a double bass would be compromised with loss of detail I *have*  owned and played with some really...

I dont understand this "when things get complex" thing in relation to a dac...I have found this more to be a function of speaker/room/amplification than a dac...why would a dac get confused and make a hash of it when music gets complex?

R4000 a sq m .. you can probably do a lot better sonically and price wise if you DIY

I use Deltec batteries when replacing..not cheap but long lasting ..5 yrs+ vs 3 yrs max of other brands I have tried All the battery really does is start the car..when its running the alternator takes over

Most of the stereo minidsp boxes can be used as preamp/dacs ..eg 2x4hd or 4x10hd ..

Glasses arent rubbish , they affect the sound in that they impede the sound flow to your ears due to the glass and frame and the pressure of the arms change the ears shape slightly

I have both books , the robert harley one is rubbish compared to jim smiths..dont bother getting it

You could also have a look at acourate as software .. some prefer it over Dirac http://www.audiovero.de/en/acourate.php Dirac is far easier to use tho
