Why would anyone ship via SAPO?

Err.....aaaa.....mmmm. Sorry, I can't. Last time I used SAPO it took 4 months from when the package landed in SA.

I have been fortunate enough not to have any issues.

    Out with the old...

You could consider in-wall or in-ceiling speakers, they will give you a better surround sound experience than a soundbar while still being unobtrusive. That being said, there have been some interesting developments in soundbars of late...

Headphone Advice: Sennheiser HD800S or ???

Thanks, anyone know of a place in Durban where I can audition the Audeze's? Also, does a linear power supply upgrade make a meaningful difference with a headphone amp/dac?

Not yet, but will order one when I order the headphones. Thanks for the feedback.

Headphone Advice: Sennheiser HD800S or ???

Hi all, As the title suggests, I am looking at a new set of "reference" cans. I would appreciate any suggestions on other headphones I should audition prior to purchasing. Would prefer ones that are supported locally. If I go ahead, I will drive these with a Mytek Brooklyn DAC / Headphone Amp...

Audition equipment in your own listening space first!

In this day and age I wouldn't let customers audition equipment at home if I owned an av dealership, unless I had a vary long standing relationship with them and could insure against the risk. The only alternative, although not always a practical one, is to take your current kit to a dealer so...

Advice: closing off the HT room

Only other option I can think of is a wide sliding door that runs behind the couch. Would have to move the light switch, which may not be practical.

    Power Question

I would consider a decent surge protector if you haven't got one. I use an APC ups with my all my electronics running off the backup sockets and my power amps just using the surge protection sockets.

    Tidal and MQA Development

Digital out on the Node 2 with MQA seems to be limited to 96khz/24bit. Going to play around some more but think you have to use analog out to get the full MQA unfold.

    Tidal and MQA Development

Hi Dolby, here is some early feedback on my experience with the Node 2. I am very impressed with MQA, very impressed. I was concerned about the amount of marketing hype around it which often over promises and under delivers. Hooked up the Node 2 to my Anthem AVM 60 via toslink but then found...

    Denon or Onkyo Avr?

Just glad you considered them. Home theatre receivers are not always that great for stereo listening (imo) but the Anthem comes a close to bridging the divide (again in my opinion). My personal choice would even be an Anthem MRX520 over an x6300h but that does limit you to 5.1 surround which is...

    Tidal and MQA Development

Seen so many comments on the net both for and against. Just ordered an MQA capable streamer/dac as I wanted to hear for myself. Looking forward to playing with it this weekend.

    Some Estate questions

Another benefit of not having the bank as an executor. Not to sound callous, but if you or your spouse are terminally ill, and have people financially dependent on you, make sure you have given them/someone you trust/your kids your banking pin/login details so that they can transfer cash in...
