Was admiring a huge lightning storm tonight in Montana Park when I remembered what happened to Evan. So I went to my pc and pulled the lan cable (got protection on power but not on comms) and walked back to watch the light show.
Flash in front, pop behind me and bang all around.
Modem dead but pc is fine.

I'll take that as a good omen.
