I was told that dont look at the power output of an amp, rather look at its power consumption...this gives u a more realistic idea what sort of power supply you have...I guess comparing yamaha to Harmon Kardon...similar models...your yamaha will use lets say 350w and your harmon kardon will use 500w.

If your output lets say is 100w for the yamaha and 60w for the harmon kardon, you know actually the harmon has a bigger power supply hence will actually has more power than the yammie?

am i talking complete kak or is this more or less a good way of checking?  This was told to me by a shop expert...
