I am very new and very green in the diy audio.
Have done a couple of two way speakers but nothing high end.
I really want to try my hands on a diy chip amp kit. Found the lm3886 clone kit at RSE.
My question is will the time and money spend bring a smile to my face once I listen to it or is there
similar kits out there but with a better end result and sound quality. I am looking at a stereo amp to drive
two 3way floor standing speakers. I am currently using a sony av amp, so anything more musical will be a win win situation for me.
Or will the money spend be better used towards a used power amp. in the for sale section.
The complete kit including enclosure goes for about R2400 from RSE, I can save a bit by doing the enclosure myself but that is pretty
much how much I want to spend on a first attempt.
Furthermore it needs to be simple as my electronic knowledge is limited.
I have read on the forum that some members designed their own amps(respect) and is now available in kit form. Maybe if one such member
is in the Durban area I can make contact with, it will be great.

Thanks in advance
