Hi All

Hoping for an opinion, I?m always confident I can find one around here...  ;D

I currently have a Samsung BDC-5500 BluRay player.  I use an optical link to my Marantz 5400 AV receiver, as this model is a number of years prior to HDMI.  I?m very happy with my Marantz and I can see my self rushing to replace it any time soon.  Currently most BluRay sound is being processed as 5.1 DTS.

I?ve seen quite a lot of talk extolling the virtues of the new HD sound formats, so I?m considering purchasing a higher level (BDC6900 ? or the new model being released) and using the 5.1 analogue outs, and piping the this to the Pre-Outs on my Marantz.  I?m considering this route, as frankly these units are pretty cheap, if I like it I can flog it and purchase something superior in the future.

What I?d like is some input from members discussing whether they feel this is worth the money, effort time etc....
