I bought this sub for 4k , but testing last night with a squeezebox as a single ended input with both SBT and sub volume set low , resulted in some loud FART sound and then nothing , so I suspect the plate amp might be buggered... its a servo sub...
When I bought it , a week ago , I just checked the power light came on... not sure if I can return it to the seller .. tho he did say if there was something wrong , I can contact him.. he hadnt used it for 2 years
HOWEVER
Im thinking of using my rotel Class D amp to drive the thing and miniDSP to do the eq... it wont be a servo sub any more , but the driver etc is perfect.. Im using it to smooth room response more than as a sub...or what other strategy can you recommend .. pull the plate amp and have it checked out.. hut by whom?
