LCD on the way out

My Samsung LCD seems to be on the way out... bought 2008/10/11 warranty expired 2011/10/18 (R20,000 gone)  :vsad: I have a bone to pick with life lately.

The right side goes dark with dark flashes of coloured light till about the middle of the screen... turning it on and off seems to help - is this something worth repairing? Or should I just wait for it to die and get a new one?

This started in December, but seems to be getting more and more frequent, i.e. from once or twice a month to daily now...
