Need a new sub

Hope I can get some advice.
I have a Farley large open plan room and currently have a wharfedale powercube 10inch woofer.

As im upgrading my system I feel the sub is next in line as it lacks to punch me in the guts in movies music its pretty ok.

What must I look at I  would look at a 12inch at least 350-400w RMS active unit.

Advice will be appreciated.
