I recently went to look at a pair of old Tannoy speakers. They turned out to be mid-sixties Monitor Golds, 15 inchers. One is in excellent condition, the other has had a botch done in repairing the surround and although it works OK it is very ugly, the sound is affected and it will need to be re-coned. A cone kit for this driver is now very expensive - $480 from the USA, and my SO has made it very clear that yet another pair of Tannoys is not welcome in my house. The size of these, I could put them in the garden and live in them! Massive solid mahogany cabinets.
