Hi Forum,

Looking for a bit of advice please.

I currently own a Sony DDWG800 everything inna box set-up, I recently picked up a set of Wharfedale Atlantic speakers that I have connected to the sony amp. The sound is about 10000 times better, in fact I cannot see how we used to listen to the tinny sound that came from the Sony speakers....

On closer inspection though, I have found that the speaker surrounds on the Atlantics floor standers are quite badly cracked, and one of the silk dome tweeters has lost its dome altogether. The speakers sound all right for 5.1 but stereo sounds terrible, no highs at all.

Im now looking at the Sony STR-DN840 and a set of Wharfedale Obsidian 600 speakers. Ill use the sub from my current HT in a box for now until I can afford a better one.

Can anyone advise if the above 2 will be a good combination? They will be used 80% movies and TV / 20% Music. Im no audiophile but I do appreciate good sounding music.

Cheers in advance for any help.
