To my ears music and hi fi are often at opposite ends of an aural struggle. A struggle between a conglomeration of varying species of hi if equipment and the simplicity of enjoyable music. So often I have heard some mega expensive sound systems producing sounds so foreign to music that the only reaction I feel to this sound is a curling of my toes.
Some of the simplest and smallest of systems often make the most sublime of music.
