Hi
Just wanted to ask the guys in the know a few questions:
I recently bought a Yamaha ax 730, also a few years old (110w/ch), thinking it would drive my Polk's (250w) better than the Sony av receiver I was using. I connected the Yammie today to test, and it sounded waaaay crappier than the Sony. I then connected an ancient Sansui AU 7700 (55 w/ch), and I couldn't believe my ears, way better than the Sony. Question now is : Is it really possible for a 35 year old amp to out perform a modern one, or might there be something wrong with the Yamaha ?
