How often does an amp need servicing?

Could this not be due to a mains imbalance? IIRC there was a circuit on the forum to help with that. Just wondering.

Suggestions for a stereo Bluetooth adapter for PC

Thanks for the suggestions, but these are a bit expensive for my purposes. o_O:D

Suggestions for a stereo Bluetooth adapter for PC

Hi guys I need help. I want a Bluetooth adapter for my PC that transmits in stereo. You'd think that'd be easy. You know, go on Takelot, find an adapter, buy it, plug it in, and there you go. Nope. Not so. I am on my fourth, yes, you read right, FOURTH Bluetooth adapter, and so far, no luck. I...

How often does an amp need servicing?

TBH, things can go wrong in the amp and have nothing to do with the service it was given. Things break. That's life. Sometimes nothing goes wrong for more than 20 years, sometimes within the first year. Sometimes it is bad or subpar parts, sometimes it is good parts that had a flaw in them...

    Great service from Audio Exchange

Audio Exchange is a must stop for me whenever I am in the Gauteng reason. Francois is an awesome guy. Highest recommendation.

    Pepsi Max vs Coke Zero

Agreed. I prefer Coke to Pepsi (can't stand Pepsi, TBH), but I much prefer Pepsi Max to Coke Zero or Coke Light.

Is the SA ship being steadied?

I agree. But this goes for all people. There are people of all colors that are really bright, capable and hard-working, as there are many that want to enrich themselves by illegal means. Here's the thing- be careful what you read. This is an old strategy, but one I see unfolding a lot, and that...

Is the SA ship being steadied?

I want to weigh in on the topic of Affirmative Action from a different point. I do believe it should be abolished, and here is why: 1. Often people get put in positions where they don't belong, and more competent people are overlooked simply due to the color of their skin. I personally know of...

    300B Stereo SET

Ditto, my thoughts exactly. I think they make a very nice and unique pattern. Just beautiful, IMHO. 👍🏻🙂

    R1 million for Landcruiser 76

Toyotas seem expensive, until you drive them and realize how little you have to spend on extra repair and maintenance costs. Over the long run they are cheaper, and much less frustrating to own. Call me biased (I come from Toyota loving and owning family), but I am also a vehicle fleet manager...

    Low powered valve amplifier

I would also consider local. The amps made by Karel @Mars are also well worth a consideration (especially his new 300B SET amp project), and probably cost far less than the ARC. No shade on Audio Research, it's just that some of us can't quite reach that far ITO budget.

    Michell TecnoDec VS Rega P8

My vote goes for the Rega. But, I agree with @Baseline about the Thorens TD-124, Garrard 301 or Technics SP10 mk.ii, or even using that money to seriously trick out an old Lenco (not the new stuff). OTOH, I might be called baised considering I am both a Technics SP10 mk.ii and tweaked Lenco owner.

    Linn Sekrit in wall Loudspeakers

I have one, but that does not solve your problem.

    B&W DM70, a sad tale

I/m sorry, but this sounds fishy as hell!! 1. Why was the driver driving through this area? If it is, as the OP stated, 'an area known for not being very safe', why the thunder did the driver drive past there and not take an alternative route that would not pass such an area? They could easily...

    Linn Sekrit in wall Loudspeakers

I would suggest trying to borrow something like the Dayton DATS kit and measuring the mid-bass drivers. Then measure the diameter and length of the port. Put all these details into a box sim and play around with the cabinet size until you get the response you want.

    Thorens TD160 Super

That looks like a Rega (or upgraded version thereof) tonearm on that TT. I would say R6k is a bargain.

    Thorens TD160 Super

Jacques is as knowledgeable as they get. Most of the forum members will refer to him to get estimates. If he says R6k, then R6k would be your best bet.

    Lenco L75

If you mount that Rega RB250 on this unit and follow the mods and tweaks that are available for it, you'll end up with a killer TT.

    Thorens TD160 Super

Jacques at The Turntable Guy would be your best bet at getting a true value on it.

    ELAC MIRACHORD 630

No idea about this one. Unfortunately looks like a cheapie. If the base unit is good, it would definitely benefit from a tonearm upgrade.
